Martin Sheen Isn’t the President

I truly love watching The West Wing. Politics aside, the show is stunning. The dialogue is crisp and intelligent. The casting is superb. The story lines compelling.
But at times I wonder if Martin Sheen really thinks he is the President of the United States. Case in point is a recent TV spot with Sheen asking Americans to flood Congress and the White House with faxes and emails opposed to the war in Iraq. He has every right to speak his mind, but more and more he seems to be speaking as the make-believe president Josiah Bartlet and not Martin Sheen. The spot was produced by Zimmerman & Markman for Moveon.org.
