The Cards are Hot

The Cards are hot, red hot in fact. They lead the NL Central by 15 games over the Cubs. They are a stunning 94-49 w/ a .657 winning percentage. The stats could go on for pages after page. But the below intro from this week’s issue of EPSN Magazine says it all:
You may want to know more about the soaring Cardinals. More than just that they lead the NL in batting average and slugging percentage. More than that they’ve got a trio of MVP candidates in Albert Pujols, Scott Rolen and Jim Edmonds hitting 3-4-5, a former MVP in Larry Walker batting second, and the best shortstop you know next to nothing about, Edgar Renteria, hitting sixth.
You may want to know more than just that they lead the NL in wins and are second in ERA (really, it’s true). More than that they’ve got a rotation of five grinders, who will each make 30 starts.
Now we just need to "bring it" in October like we’ve brought since May 1 when we were 16-16. It has been 22 years since a World title and 17 since the last pennant.
