A Little Over the Top

Ok, this is a little over-the-top. Hardee’s has just introduced a 1,420 calorie hamburger with 107 grams of fat. It includes two one-third-pound slabs of Angus beef, four strips of bacon, three slices of cheese and mayonnaise on a buttered sesame seed bun. The sandwich alone sells for $5.49 or $7.09 with a medium fries (520 calories) and soda (400 calories). So a thickburger "meal" has almost 2,500 calories. An executive from Hardee’s said, this is "not a burger for tree-huggers." Now I understand Hardee’s is attempting to position themselves as the alternative to all the low-fat and low-carb commercials the competition are running. But give me a break.
