Intel Launches New Logo

December 31st, 2005  |  Published in Branding, Design

Intel, the world’s largest chipmaker, will launch a new corporate slogan and logo this week as part of the company’s shift towards the general consumer marketplace. The "Intel Inside" tagline is out. The company will now encourage consumers to "Leap Ahead".

The revised logo with replace the one featuring a lowered case "e" with one showing an elliptical (that would be an oval) swirl surrounding the company name.

The firm says it wants to re-position itself as providing the technology behind many digital products, not just PCs. Intel chief executive Paul Otellini is set to unveil the details of the new marketing campaign on January 5th at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

As Jason Kottke said, now they’ll just look like everyone else.
