Cards Up On Tigers 2-1

October 25th, 2006  |  Published in Sports

Chris Carpenter was brilliant in the Cards 5-0 win over the Tigers tonight. He allowed zero runs and three singles. Six strike outs and no walks. Carp made it through eight innings on just 82 pitches. He was brilliant, he faced 26 hitters and ran a three-ball count on, well, none of them. Heck, he only made it past ball one to nine of them. The average number of pitches he threw per Tigers plate appearance: An unbelievable 3.15. That’s how brilliant he was. Suppan hits the mound tomorrow where the Cards look like they have the real chance to go up 3-1 with yet another game at home on Thursday.
