The Design Feed Effect

March 15th, 2007  |  Published in Blogs, Technology  |  1 Comment

Part of my day job as the VP if Marketing for a tech software company is to look for trends in data. Well a trend is clear with my blog, since being added to Design Feed I’ve seen a huge spike in traffic. My humble little blog has been around since 2002, but my traffic has always been around 50 folks a week. Since being added to Design Feed it is closer to 600 a week, and growing.

Now only about 2 percent are coming directly from Design Feed. But since 2002 no other variable has changed so I have to assume it is a Design Feed Effect. I have not seen anybody else write about this, cause I can only expect that many/most of the sites here already were experiencing traffic at a much higher rate then myself, so this wouldn’t be as noticeable to them.

So thank you Design Feed! If I didn’t get a single visitor I’d still blog close to daily. It is as much my personal dairy of my thoughts and musing. Someplace where I can play. Build out and formulate my thoughts. And just have some fun. But lets be frank, it is nice to know other people are stopping by.
