Body Worlds 3 Arrives In St. Louis

October 19th, 2007  |  Published in Culture

Tickets are in hand for Body Worlds 3 at the St. Louis Science Center. I can’t wait. One of the things I miss about living in Washington DC is all the great exhibits that come through town, like the current Edward Hopper show at the National Gallery of Art.

What has been pretty amazing is all the backlash against the show on TV and talk radio. It would appear many of my fellow citizens think those of us in the Midwest just “can’t handle” something like Body Worlds. And oh the kids, oh the kids, shield their eyes. Playing the “kids card” to suggest Body Worlds should show here is kind of strange since you can’t get in without a ticket. As one radio personality said, “Americans have forgotten the ability to ignore.”
