A lot of us in the United States that don’t travel much like to think we are the biggest, the first, the best. Well that often isn’t the case. A good example is an advertising trend Cabel Sasser noticed in a recent trip to Japan.
Within minutes of riding on the first trains in Japan, I […]

Wired has a wonderful interactive story on how Google developed one of the world’s most recognized logos. The above is version 1.0. Good thing they keep tinkering.

Update: I have been informed that this is an ad for Nationwide Insurance and not Coop’s Paint, so I changed the subject line. That Coudal is saying it is for Coop’s paint would be cause I didn’t do enough research. My bad!

What a wonderful ad. Simple, yet powerful enough that the visual is all that is needed.

Copy: This is the view we are spoiling.
It would seem that the local Auckland City Council wants to ban outdoor billboards. So the New Zealand

The copy reads, “If you really want to touch someone, send them a letter.” I love this ad for a number of reasons. The visual is so unusual and engaging I can’t see how anybody could just flip past it without at least taking a quick look at the brief yet powerful copy.
Even though I […]

Jarratt Moody is awful good at time-based typography. For one of his classes there was a project where he was supposed to take some audio from wherever (movie, song, poetry reading, answering machine) and then represent that audio on screen using only type.
Jarratt chose a famous scene from Pulp Fiction as his subject matter. The […]

A very neat and creative campaign from Procter & Gamble (P&G), the parent company of Tide promotes their new cold water laundry detergent. Tide claims in the press that U.S. consumers could save up to $63 per year in energy costs by cleaning their cloths in cold water. The print campaign highlights this by pointing […]
